  • Situated in the heart of Melbourne's CBD on Flinders Street, the Forum Melbourne with its unique Gothic-Romanesque architecture, is the place-to-be for live performances of various artists, both local and international. The interior of the venue is no less elaborate with a sky-blue ceiling creating an illusion of an outdoor amphitheatre setting. Famous for being one of Melbourne's most popular live band venues, the Forum also plays host to many popular festivals throughout the year including the Melbourne International Comedy and Film Festivals, the Melbourne Jazz Festival and the Melbourne Arts Festival.

    Formerly the State Theatre, the Forum Theatre opened in 1929 with the largest seating capacity of any theatre in Australia. Since then the venue has been divided into two separate venues. Downstairs, Forum I is famous for its large stage, mesmerising proscenium and signature cabaret style booths. Upstairs, Forum II is a smaller venue with tiered seating, small stage, surround sound and cinema size screen.

    BOX OFFICE HOURS
    Box Office opening hours are dependent on individual show times and the the box office usually opens from the event door time. The box office remains open until half an hour after the main act commences. For the latest set times, visit the event page of your tickets show at ForumMelbourne.com.au.

    Cash, Credit Card or Eftpos.

    BOOTH TICKET COLLECTIONS
    Booth tickets can be collected from the Box Office within the said opening times on the day of the performance. This also gives priority access to the venue.

    OVER 18’s VENUE
    Forum Melbourne is an over 18’s venue.  Patrons must be able to present one of the following ID’s to gain entry: learner or driver’s license, passport, proof of age card, keypass.  If patrons are unable to present a valid form of ID, we can not permit you entry to the venue, and on these grounds, we can not provide a refund for your tickets.     PROHIBITED
    Alcohol, cans, bottles, recording equipment, lazers, studded belts or weapons cannot be brought onto the premises. No open toed shoes.

    NO SMOKING
    We are a no smoking and no vaping venue.

    ATM’s
    All bars accept card payments but no cash out is available. Closest ATM is at Federation Square.

    LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED TICKETS
    Lost, stolen or damaged tickets must be reported to Ticketek prior to the event day, or prior to 4pm on the event day.

    CLOAKROOM
    The cloakroom is located on the mezzanine level in the foyer and is complimentary. Please only bring handbags and satchels that are smaller than an A4 piece of paper to the theatre. Due to security requirements, you may be asked to show the contents of your bags to theatre staff.

    SEATING
    Forum Melbourne has both general admission and reserved seating events.  Customers are advised to check the event page for further information.
